As providers, we do not always meet the perfect example of a patient. As we work within the emergency services we will probably run into all kind of people with different conditions, some diagnosed and others not. Here is a good article by EMS1 on ADHD. Some people go through their whole lives never knowing they have ADHD and others around them just think they are rude, unruly, or just unfocused. Be alert to patients who seem to act out of the normal, it could be a medical condition or an undiagnosed mental condition, or something unknown. Always do a thorough assessment and ask the patient or a reliable source about past medical HX.
